WAITLIST NUMBERS!!! Yep, that’s right . . . Brandi @ AGCI called me this afternoon to let me know that our dossier has FINALLY been approved! Then, she gave me a couple of little numbers that I’ve been wanting to hear for so long . . .
I’ll try to explain how these numbers work for those of you who are wondering. AGCI has a big excel spreadsheet. Once your dossier is approved, your family gets added to the spreadsheet. It has three columns: boy / girl / siblings. In our case (because of the parameters we set), we were added to the “boy” column and the “siblings” column. The list is a little deceiving because everyone on there has different age parameters. Ours is 0-5 years, so we could actually get a referral before someone who is currently ahead of us on the list with a narrower age range (like 0-18 months). Confused yet? Each month we’ll get a call or email letting us know what our new numbers are. Ideally, as referrals are made, you work your way up the list until you get a referral yourself. (A referral is when you actually get “matched” with a child(ren) and you finally get to see pictures and get medical records, etc.).
We are just SO excited to be to this point! The hard work has paid off! God is in control of how quickly we get a referral, and we completely trust Him with all of those details. It just suddenly seems so real, and I can’t wipe this huge grin off my face!
