Etsy & Ethiopia

I was browsing on Etsy tonight, and I came across these fun finds! Many of them are adoption fundraiser products. We’ve been brainstorming fundraising ideas, but I haven’t come up with anything this creative! If you have any fun ideas, let me know!

I like this little shirt and this necklace and this necklace and this decal and this shirt and this shirt and this set of cards and this shirt . . .

And for those of you who saw my announcement on my photography blog or Facebook tonight and left such sweet, encouraging comments, THANK YOU!!! I am already overwhelmed by the love and support we have received in making this decision. You all will definitely be part of our journey, and I’m so thankful for each of you.

You don’t know me from Adam, but Beth Spray gave me your blog address as it related to a chat we had on FB today. I was scrolling through and saw this post about fundraising, which made me think of this site, 147millionorphans.com. they have fundraising t-shirts on there where you’d make $10 per shirt. I’ll be reading your story. We are in the midst of wondering what God would have us do about our ‘burden’ for those 147 million orphans. Do we pursue adoption? Do we find a ministry to support and help in that way? It is such an emotional thing for me, and I don’t wany my emotions to get in the way of CLEARLY hearing the Lord’s voice in this. It’s a bit more complex than which cereal to buy at the commissary! Have a blessed day…

I WANT that necklace!!!!! The one with the heart & Ethiopia on it!!! How can I get one where the proceeds go to you & Brad. Do you guys have to sign up with a company & select your merchandise? I’m confused on how all that works. I like the green tee too :) Girl, you know Olivia will want them as well-if it has ANYTHING to do with her new cousin!!! :)

Hi Dee Dee! Thanks so much for getting in touch with me! I’m very familiar with 147millionorphans.com. Gwen & Suzanne actually live right here in Nashville, and they have a been great source of encouragement (and information) for us. We love their products (and own many of them), and we plan to use their t-shirts as part of our fundraising. Thanks for following our story, and I’ll pray that God guides you on how to be involved in the orphan crisis. If you ever have any questions about our experience, please feel free to ask!

Kendall – I totally ordered that green shirt the other day! I can’t wait for it to get here! As far as the necklace goes, I don’t think I can set up an account with them for the proceeds to go to us. But you should still get one if you want! I’ve got a shirt in mind for Olivia – bless her sweet little heart! I think we might design our own shirt to sell, too??? I’ve been working on that this afternoon. I’ll keep you posted on that and some other fundraising ideas we’ve had – I think it’s going to be fun!

Sounds good! Yeah, if they get the necklace in stock I will order one. Keep me posted on your t-shirt design too. Hope your week gets better since the whole Mac thing. I love you
